things i find difficult

Here is a list of things I have found difficult here:

Conversing in Bangla while bathing in public

Pooping in the dark

Reading Kierkegaard while people peep in my window

Squatting for extended periods of time (especially in the dark)

Guessing the ages of my neighbors

Saying goodnight to drunk neighbors who want to stay

Eating rice twice a day every day

Dancing real close to sweaty drunk men

Believing that plug in mosquito repellent actually makes a difference

Figuring out where to dispose of my garbage

Figuring out how I can gracefully not give strangers my number

Holding my bladder as I wait for our shared toilet

Resisting our “sink” as I wait for the toilet

Discerning whether J is reading his book or starring at me from his side of the room

Imagining a lazy boy and flat screen in my room
